We are only a few weeks away from entering into the next of the holy seasons of the church year. Lent begins on Wednesday, February 26 and continues until Easter Sunday on April 12. Lent is a season to reflect, to prepare, and to be additionally intentional about how we are seeking to follow the way of Jesus in our lives. Some people use the season to give up something in their lives so they can devote more of their time or resources to God. Others make a commitment to live in a new way during the season in the hopes that it will become a regular practice for them once Lent finishes.
Our theme for Lent this year is about “The Simple Life.”. It is inspired by a book called Living the Quaker Way by Philip Gulley. Each week during Lent we will focus on a different theme that Gulley raises and how those reflect the truths of how we are called to live according to Scripture.
Throughout the season we will have other opportunities to go deeper and you will see those opportunities below.
Additionally, we will be seeking to connect one another in prayer in a very intentional way. If you would like to be prayed for specifically by someone else and if you commit to praying for another person, please click here and fill out your info so we can include you in the web of prayer.
I hope you will join us in intentional ways this Lenten season.
